The Bosnia Escape Room introduced immersive playful collaborative problem-solving as an intellectual-social endeavor based in literary and human rights content. Capitalizing on the global popularity of Escape Rooms, FSCJ staged scenes from "The Bosnia List," a memoir of surviving war at age 12. Players reported feeling like they had walked into the book itself; their appreciation for the author’s plight was amplified. Escape rooms provide an opportunity to learn with peers, tackle intellectual challenges, contribute individual talents, experience a quest with others, accept “The call to adventure!” and propel learners into high states of motivation and enthusiasm.
