Using Minecraft to Get Kids to Write

Minecraft is such a versatile tool for capturing kids interest, and then transferring that interest to other subjects like math, history, science . . . I've been using Minecraft to get kids to write their own Minecraft stories, and have received hundreds of stories from all across the country, some from France and Brazil as well. I'll be going over the materials I've developed to demystify the story writing process, and break it down into smaller bits that are easily digestible by kids from 3rd grade through middle school. We links to downloads of these materials will be made available as well as online video tutorials on the different elements of a story for use in the classroom or just by the teacher. Let's keep these kids writing . . . and watch out for creepers.

I'm the author of the New York Times Bestselling Minecraft series, Gameknight999. I'm hoping to help teachers get kids to read and write and use Minecraft in an effective way. I have lots of resources to share with teachers and want to help where I can.
